The Position
Sharp & Carter are currently partnering with a growing ASX-listed organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer for a 6-month temporary position.
Based in inner city fringe and reporting into the Finance Manager, this role is ideal for an experienced Accounts Receivable professional who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and has a strong focus on collections and debtor management.
You will play a key role in managing customer accounts, driving timely collections, resolving payment queries and supporting the wider finance function. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking organisation experiencing continued growth, with exposure to evolving systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Receivable function, including high-volume invoicing and debtor management
- Generate and distribute invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Proactively manage collections and follow up outstanding accounts to ensure payment within agreed terms
- Maintain accurate customer accounts and debtor ledgers
- Conduct regular follow-up of overdue invoices via phone and email
- Investigate and resolve payment disputes and account discrepancies
- Manage customer enquiries and provide timely and professional resolutions
- Complete account reconciliations and ensure accurate financial records are maintained
- Manage claims and assist with resolving outstanding customer matters
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to achieve timely payment outcomes
- Provide broader support to the Finance team as required
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience within an Accounts Receivable, Credit Control or Collections position
- Demonstrated experience managing high-volume collections and debtor ledgers
- Strong invoicing and account reconciliation experience
- Confident communicating with customers and negotiating payment outcomes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional approach to stakeholder management
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively within a collaborative finance team
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach with a strong customer service mindset
