POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Product Manager (EMD, GE) responsible for indent and non-stock products, the Product Engineer plays a critical role in delivering advanced technical expertise, project leadership, and strategic support across the business. This position involves managing complex engineering and commercial requirements, providing high-level technical advice internally and externally, and enabling the sales team to be successful in more indent projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Product Engineer leads the technical offer of projects, from initial specification analysis through to commercial offer and order execution.

Responsibilities include providing expert advice on production selection, application advice and customizations to meet customer-specific requirements, along with preparing high-quality technical offers and further suggestions. The Product Engineer collaborates with Product Managers, Engineering, QA, Sales, and Service teams to ensure company exceeds customer expectations and offers exceptional service to the market. It is key that this role maintains strong communication with factories and other suppliers and ensures compliance with relevant international standards such as ISO9001. This role also includes participation in product development projects, offering design input, supporting new business initiatives, and ensuring technical activities are performed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

• Provide advanced technical support for product applications, installations, specifications, and commissioning.
• Contribute and support the complex technical evaluations and provide recommendations that balance performance, quality, and cost.
• Interpret and ensure adherence to technical standards, industry codes, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage assigned engineering and commercial projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery within schedule and budget constraints.
• Assist with writing technical documents where required, including but not limited to customer submission proposals, providing suitable supporting evidence and documents, white papers, and marketing pieces.
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of ISO9001, and other certification standards. Including developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your role.




• Provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers, technical and sales staff, fostering technical development within the team.
• Work closely with Sales, Service, and Product teams to develop engineering solutions that support business growth.
• Liaise directly with factories and suppliers to develop offers, resolve technical issues, and drive product improvements.
• Contribute to product development initiatives, including offering technical input on design modifications and new product introductions.
• Promote and maintain a solid safety culture, ensuring all related work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Use CRM and EQS, along with other relevant company systems, to develop strong technical and commercial offers for the sales staff to present to customers.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Visiting sites from time to time, helping the sales team with engineering requirements related to an offer, overseeing commissioning of our products, providing training to customers, or assisting our engineering staff with troubleshooting.
• An interest and capability to work with the wider business to improve processes and procedures, suggest policy updates or potential improvements in the business, TECO products or services.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
• Comply with company policies including the company's Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures in accordance with ISO standards.

EDUCATION
• Tertiary level Engineering qualification is required. Preferably related to any of:

- Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrical Engineering.
- Mechatronics.

EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering focused role.

COMPETENCE
• Deep technical knowledge and interest in electric motors, drives, and related industrial products, with proven problem-solving ability in complex scenarios.
• Strong application analysis skills, with ability to systematically investigate and propose solutions.
• Skilled in planning, executing, and delivering engineering projects, balancing time, cost, and quality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing professional offers, reports and technical documents for internal and external stakeholders.
• Thorough understanding of ISO9001, IECEx, Australian Standards relating to Electric Motors and other applicable industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Committed to delivering high-quality solutions, offers, and technical support that meets customer expectations and enhances customer loyalty.
• Demonstrates a proactive mindset for improving technical and commercial processes, systems, and product.
• Adherence to best practices in workplace safety and environmental responsibility.
