We are seeking an accomplished philanthropy leader to drive the next phase of growth across major gifts, trusts and foundations, mid-value giving and future capital campaigns.

About the Role
This is an opportunity to lead a talented team of five, build influential donor relationships and secure the investment needed to transform the lives of Queenslanders who are blind or have low vision.

Our 2027–2032 Strategic Plan sets an ambitious goal: to double our impact by 2032, with philanthropy playing a critical role in achieving this vision.

Reporting to the General Manager, Client Engagement, you will:

- Lead and deliver an integrated philanthropy strategy aligned with Guide Dogs Queensland’s strategic priorities.

- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of five.

- Deliver approximately $5 million in annual philanthropic income and build a robust, sustainable pipeline for future growth.

- Personally cultivate, solicit and steward major donors,



including securing six-figure and transformational gifts.

- Grow major gifts, trusts and foundations and establish a new mid-value giving program.

- Lead organisational readiness for a future capital campaign and strengthen prospect development, portfolio management, forecasting and performance.

- Build strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, philanthropic partners, the CEO, Board, executives and key stakeholders to advance significant opportunities.

- Foster a culture of ambition, collaboration, accountability and exceptional donor care.

About You
You are an experienced philanthropy leader with a strong track record in major gifts and institutional fundraising. You combine strategic thinking and commercial discipline with warmth, emotional intelligence and genuine relationship-building capability.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Demonstrated success securing six-figure major gifts and developing transformational donor relationships.

- Significant experience across major gifts, trusts and foundations and ideally capital or comprehensive campaigns.

- Experience developing and delivering multi-year philanthropy strategies, revenue targets and sustainable donor pipelines.

- Proven experience leading, developing and motivating high-performing teams.





- Confidence and credibility engaging major donors, trustees, senior executives and Board members.

- Exceptional communication, storytelling and proposal development skills.

- Strong financial, analytical and forecasting capability.

- Sound judgement, discretion and resilience in managing complex and sensitive relationships.

- A collaborative leadership style and genuine commitment to improving the independence, participation and quality of life of people who are blind or have low vision.

Highly Regarded

- Experience leading or supporting significant capital or comprehensive fundraising campaigns.

- Experience establishing or growing a mid-value donor program.

- Established networks within Queensland’s philanthropic, professional or business communities.

- Experience in the disability, health, human services or not-for-profit sectors.
