Afford’s employment services are expanding under Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA), and we’re looking for a Senior Employment Consultant to support people with disability to achieve meaningful and sustainable employment outcomes.
This is a hands-on role combining client support, employer engagement, mentoring and team support to help drive strong outcomes across the service.
About the role:
- Support IEA clients to achieve their employment goals and secure sustainable employment
- Build strong relationships with employers and community stakeholders to create employment opportunities
- Provide guidance, mentoring and support to Employment Consultants and the wider ESA team
What you will do:
- Support clients with job searching, resume development, applications, interview preparation and workplace readiness
- Identify barriers to employment and develop practical strategies to help clients achieve their goals
- Build and maintain relationships with employers to develop sustainable employment opportunities
- Provide post-placement and ongoing support to clients and employers
- Manage a caseload as required, including providing coverage during staff absences
- Mentor and support Employment Consultants to achieve service and KPI requirements
- Support the wider ESA team with service delivery and caseload coverage as required
- Promote Afford’s IEA services within the local community and with external stakeholders
- Complete assessments, risk assessments, case notes and reporting in line with IEA and Afford requirements
- Provide guidance and support on IEA compliance, performance and service delivery
- Contribute to team performance, development plans and continuous improvement
- Ensure services are delivered in a person-centred, compliant and high-quality manner
What you will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience, or Certificate III in Disability Services or Individual Support with extensive relevant experience
- Experience working with people with disability in employment services,
case management or direct support
- Experience working towards and achieving KPIs and performance targets
- Strong understanding of person-centred practice and disability services
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
- Robust problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to mentor and support colleagues while working effectively as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Confident using client management systems and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Current Australian C class driver's licence and ability to travel between sites, including interstate travel as required.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWSC) and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Willingness to complete a National Police Check through Afford’s pre-employment process.
