The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team.

This is a workshop-based position in Mackay working on a modern fleet of trucks and trailers, supported by our onsite workshop and wash bay facilities.

You will be responsible for the servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repair of our heavy vehicle fleet, helping ensure our vehicles remain protected, reliable and compliant.

The position is primarily Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend and after-hours work may be required.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair and maintain trucks, trailers and associated equipment

- Carry out mechanical, pneumatic and auto-electrical diagnostics and repairs

- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

- Identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults

- Maintain vehicles to NHVR and SLP standards

- Ensure fleet vehicles are maintained to a high standard of safety, reliability and presentation

- Complete accurate maintenance records, job sheets and associated paperwork

- Work closely with drivers, operations and management to minimise downtime

- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop

- Undertake occasional weekend and after-hours work as required

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-focused and takes pride in their workmanship.





To be successful, you will have:

- Trade qualification as a Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic and auto-electrical systems

- Experience working on heavy vehicles and trailers

- Fuel industry experience highly desirable

- Current HR licence – minimum requirement

- Forklift licence desirable

- Dangerous Goods licence, or willingness to obtain

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete accurate paperwork

- Good communication and problem-solving skills

- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- A strong commitment to workplace health, safety and compliance
