Allan King & Sons Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Excavator Operator to join our team on current Darwin based projects.

As a locally owned and operated civil construction company, we specialise in bulk and detailed earthworks, bridge construction, stormwater drainage, and stabilisation works. About the Role

We are looking for an operator with proven civil construction experience who can work safely, efficiently, and collaboratively within our project teams. The successful applicant will be involved in a variety of civil works and will play a key role in achieving project outcomes.

Applicants with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, integrity, and demonstrated commitment to safe work practices will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate excavators safely and efficiently on civil construction projects.

- Complete stormwater, trenching, earthworks, and drainage works to specification.

- Conduct daily machinery pre-start inspections and report maintenance requirements.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors, site personnel, and project stakeholders.

- Follow project plans, construction drawings, and company procedures.

- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and environmental care.

- Contribute to project productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will possess:





- Demonstrated experience operating excavators in civil construction environments.

- Solid understanding of civil works including stormwater, trenching, and earthworks.

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

- Experience using machine control and GPS systems, preferably Topcon.

- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Strong planning, organisation, and time management abilities.

- Self-motivation and a results-focused approach.

- Pride in maintaining equipment and delivering quality workmanship.

Essential Requirements

- Current Construction Industry White Card.

- Ability to conduct machinery pre-starts and identify maintenance issues.

- Commitment to adhering to company policies and procedures.
