An established Australian food manufacturer is looking to engage an experienced R&D; Technologist on a contract basis for an initial 3–4 month period.

Working closely with the broader R&D;, Quality and Operations teams, you will support product development, trials, documentation and the successful introduction of new and improved products into manufacturing.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous experience working within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar high-volume production environment who can quickly integrate into an established technical team.

The Role Your responsibilities may include:

- Supporting the development and commercialisation of new food products
- Coordinating and assisting with factory and production trials
- Developing and reviewing product specifications, formulations and technical documentation
- Supporting product improvement, reformulation and cost optimisation projects
- Working closely with Production, Quality, Procurement and other internal stakeholders
- Assisting with ingredient and raw material assessments
- Troubleshooting product and manufacturing issues during trials and scale-up
- Ensuring products meet relevant quality, food safety and regulatory requirements
- Managing multiple R&D; projects and priorities within agreed timelines

About You To be considered,



you will ideally have:

- Previous experience as an R&D; Technologist, Product Development Technologist, Food Technologist or NPD Technologist
- Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG
- A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
- Experience taking products from concept and trial stage through to commercial production
- Solid knowledge of food manufacturing processes and technical documentation
- Confidence working directly with production teams in a factory environment
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make an immediate contribution
- Availability to commence at short notice would be highly advantageous
