As part of this journey, we are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Quality, Risk & Patient Safety Manager to lead and shape our quality, safety and clinical governance agenda.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and working closely with the Executive Team, the Quality, Risk & Patient Safety Manager is responsible for leading contemporary clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management and patient safety systems across Calvary Launceston.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting evolving models of care, organisational change initiatives and service development while ensuring continued compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and other regulatory and accreditation requirements.
You will provide strategic advice to executive leaders, drive organisational improvement initiatives, oversee risk management frameworks and foster a culture where safety, quality and patient experience are embedded in everyday practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and advance clinical governance, quality and patient safety frameworks across the organisation.
- Drive accreditation readiness and ongoing compliance with NSQHS Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support service expansion, innovation and the implementation of new and evolving models of care.
- Lead organisational change initiatives through contemporary change management principles and practices.
- Analyse complex clinical, operational and risk data to identify trends, opportunities and emerging risks.
- Oversee and support the patient feedback system, ensuring the patient voice and experience is integrated into quality solutions.
- Develop high-quality executive reports, briefing documents and organisational performance insights.
- Design and implement innovative quality improvement strategies that deliver measurable outcomes that are informed by the patient experience and best practice principles.
- Facilitate organisational learning through incident management, investigations, risk reviews and improvement programs.
- Influence clinical and operational practice across all departments to drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Build trusted relationships with clinicians, managers, executives, consumers and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
- Support patient experience and consumer engagement initiatives that inform service improvement
- Ensure that the local quality strategy is aligned with Calvary National strategic direction and purpose.
About You
You are a cooperative and influential leader who combines strong clinical governance expertise with exceptional analytical and relationship-building skills.
You will bring:
Essential
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in a senior clinical quality, risk and patient safety leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience working within contemporary clinical governance, quality and risk management frameworks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NSQHS Standards and accreditation processes.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulation, compliance and clinical risk management.
- Proven ability to lead organisational improvement and change initiatives.
- Outstanding written communication skills with experience preparing executive-level reports and presentations.
- Advanced analytical capability with the ability to translate data into meaningful organisational insights and actions.
- Ability to engage, influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic quality improvement programs.
Desirable
- Experience using RiskMan or similar incident and risk management systems.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Quality Management, Clinical Governance, Risk Management, Healthcare Management or a related discipline.
- Experience leading quality and safety programs within a private hospital environment.
