THE CHANCE

Somerset College is seeking an organised, proactive and service oriented Events Coordinator to deliver exceptional events that bring our community together and enhance the Somerset experience.

This position is responsible for the coordination and operational delivery of College events, working with the College’s Community Engagement strategy and event priorities. The role provides end-to-end coordination of designated events, including planning, administration, stakeholder liaison, logistics, ticketing, event communications, suppliers and post-event evaluation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate the planning and operational delivery of designated College events

- Manage online ticketing, registrations, attendee management and event reporting

- Support the development of event programmes, collateral and event communications

- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, sponsors, volunteers and external stakeholders to support successful event delivery

- Coordinate event logistics, including venue preparation, catering, audiovisual requirements

- Support sponsor relationships and the delivery of agreed sponsorship benefits

- Prepare, maintain and distribute event documentation, including run sheets, contact lists, meeting agendas, minutes and action registers

- Manage event administration, records management and event calendar scheduling

- Assist with compliance requirements, including permits, risk assessments, vendor documentation and volunteer administration

- Support event purchasing, stock control, budget administration and expenditure tracking

- Coordinate post-event feedback, attendance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives

You are a highly organised and proactive events skilled who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys bringing people together through exceptional experiences. With strong attention to detail, excellent relationship-building skills and a hands-on approach, you can confidently manage multiple priorities while delivering events that run seamlessly. You are service-oriented, adaptable and take pride in creating memorable moments that strengthen community engagement and reflect the values of Somerset College. In addition to this, the successful candidate will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in event coordination, administration and operational delivery.

- Strong digital literacy, good attention to detail, efficiency, and capacity to utilise and adapt to systems.

- Excellent organisational, planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

- Professional presentation with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

- Reliable, adaptable and service-oriented, with the flexibility to work outside standard hours when required. Qualifications in Event management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

- Experience using event management, ticketing, registration and digital systems preferred

- Current Working with Children Blue Card and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification or the ability to obtain.

- Physical capacity to participate in event set up and pack down activities and safely undertake manual handling tasks of up to 10 kg.
