GSG Laboratories is an Australian owned and operated provider of construction materials, environmental and agricultural testing and drilling services, operating through a network of NATA-accredited base laboratories across Queensland and New South Wales.

We deliver high-quality testing to projects in every sector of construction and agriculture, from residential and commercial developments to transport infrastructure, renewables, mining, oil and gas, and rural work. Alongside our base laboratories, we provide branch and annex (onsite) laboratory services Australia wide, and our regional footprint means we can mobilise staff and resources quickly.

That expertise has deep roots in regional Queensland, tracing back to Wide Bay Geotechnical Services, established in 1986. Key Responsibilities:





As a Soil Technician based at our Hervey Bay Laboratory, you will work a 9-days-on, 5-days-off DIDO (or FIFO) roster across our Annex sites. Tasks include:

- Undertake both field and laboratory testing across a broad range of methods, including but not limited to Australian Standards

- Complete laboratory testing at the required production level

- Undertake training in test methods

- Follow procedures directed by the Laboratory Manager

- Prepare worksheets checking measurements and calculations of test results of other technicians

- Maintain, clean and test equipment while keeping work area tidy

- Liaise with internal staff and clients

About You:

You will be self-motivated, a fast learner and bring a positive attitude to the team. We are ideally looking for technicians or trainees who possess:

- Good knowledge of Microsoft office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)

- The ability to work flexible hours and travel for work when required

- Solid communication and problem-solving skills

- The ability to work under pressure, show initiative, prioritise and schedule work

- The ability to be a team player and work unsupervised

- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

Qualifications

- Open, current driver’s licence

- Certificate 3 in Construction Materials Testing (NATA Level 2)

- Nuclear Gauge License

- Standard 11 (highly advantageous)
