- Pay details-Salary packaging: $40.49 - $43.42 + casual loading, + 12% superannuation & salary packaging up to $15,900 per year.

About the Role:

The ITC Youth Worker plays a vital role in creating a safe, predictable, and supportive environment for young people who have experienced trauma. Working within a therapeutic framework, the Youth Worker will:

- Be Present and Engaged: Actively participate in the daily life of the ITC home, offering stability and emotional support as per rostered shifts.

- Ensure Safety and Wellbeing: Prioritise the physical and psychological safety of young people, responding calmly and effectively to their needs and behaviours.

- Provide Individualised Support: Assist young people with routines, education, appointments, and recreational activities, ensuring these experiences are positive and inclusive.

- Promote Healing and Resilience: Use trauma-informed strategies to help young people regulate emotions,



develop life skills, and build healthy relationships.

- Advocate and Report Responsibly: Complete shift notes, incident reports, and mandatory notifications to Police and the Child Protection Helpline in line with legal and organisational requirements.

- Work Within Therapeutic Frameworks: Uphold Anglicare's Code of Conduct and implement the Sanctuary Model principles to create a culture of safety, connection, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

As an ­ITC Youth Worker, you will:

- Assist young people to develop appropriate living skills in the areas of healthy meal preparation, domestic chores e.g. washing, household cleaning, garden maintenance and day to day household management needs.

- Build caring relationships with young people to support their ongoing safety and developmental wellbeing including promoting: self-esteem, appropriate health, diet, exercise, hygiene, sexual and personal development.

- Demonstrate your ability to be self-regulated in response to young people who may be distressed or experiencing heightened emotions.

- Implement and maintain therapeutic approaches to support young people under the guidance of a Therapeutic Specialist.

- Complete shift reports and notes in Anglicare database at the end of shift, including incident reports and mandatory reports as per mandatory reporter guidelines if required.

What you will bring:

- a Certificate IV or Diploma in Youth Work or Community Services; or Bachelors of Social Work (or equivalent for DCJ's ITC minimum requirements). Applicants working towards qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

- Hold a current Drivers Licence, current WWCC, and Senior First Aid Certification.





- Will to register on the NSW Residential Care Workers Registration (required for employment in ITC).

- Demonstrated practical experience working with children/young people and/or their families within a community services, youth, out-of-home care or related service setting.

- Sound working knowledge of NSW Child Protection legislation and the NSW Child Safe Standards, relevant to Permanent Care.

- Applied understanding of child and adolescent development, including the impacts of trauma, abuse and neglect on emotional, behavioural and relational functioning, and the ability to respond using trauma informed approaches in routine and complex situations.

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, taking direction while also exercising initiative, professional judgment and accountability.

- Commitment to training in the trauma informed Sanctuary Model and implementing this model of care in day to day work with young people and all members of their Care Team.
