Your role at St John of God Midland Private Hospital
This is an exciting prospect to join St John of God Midland Private Hospital at the opening of the hospital. We are seeking an experienced Diabetes Educator to help shape high-quality patient care within a modern, purpose-built environment.
You will be part of a founding clinical team, contributing to the establishment of best practice models of care while delivering safe, effective and patient centred critical care services.
Key Responsibilities
The Diabetes Educator is responsible for the delivery of patient centred care within their area of specialty to achieve optimal patient outcomes within allocated resources whilst supporting and promoting the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care (SJGHC).
In collaboration with the Nurse Managers and Director of Nursing the Diabetes Educator will be responsible for improving and maintaining standards, developing solutions and delivering outcomes consistent with service and organisational imperatives and targets. This includes the provision of leadership, clinical performance monitoring, policy review and development, development and delivery of clinical education, implementing changes to clinical practice and initiating research and quality improvement activities.
You will hold Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife and demonstrate significant knowledge, experience and leadership in this area of specialty.

- Salary: $129,203 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent part time 38 hours per fortnight

About the new Midland Private Hospital
- A brand new purpose built state-of-the-art facility,
located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public Hospital Campus.
- A comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the region
The hospital features:
- 96 overnight inpatient beds, including a six-bed critical care/high dependency unit
- 33 bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit
- Eight operating theatres
- A Cardiac Catheter Laboratory
