About the role:
As a Customer Service Officer within our Machine & Hire team, you'll be the first point of contact for customers requiring specialised transport, equipment hire and recovery services. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where you'll use your customer service skills to coordinate jobs, solve problems and build strong relationships with customers across a range of industries.
While experience in transport and logistics is highly regarded, we're open to candidates with strong customer service experience and a willingness to learn our specialised industry. We provide the support and training needed to help you succeed in the role.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Responding to customer enquiries relating to transport, equipment hire and recovery service
- Coordinating jobs with our Operations and Despatch teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Building strong relationships with repeat commercial customers and equipment hire companies
- Providing timely updates and solutions to customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Maintaining accurate records and information within internal systems
- Delivering exceptional customer service in a rapid-paced operational environment
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will bring a customer-focused approach, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
You'll demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a customer service, administration, scheduling or coordination role
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Strong computer skills and confidence working across multiple systems
- The ability to remain organised and manage competing priorities
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends
Highly desirable (but not essential):
- Experience within transport, logistics, fleet operations, heavy vehicle, machinery hire, construction, civil or earthmoving industries
- Experience in scheduling, dispatch, fleet coordination or transport operations
- Knowledge of trucks, trailers, machinery or heavy vehicles
