In operation for over 50 years, we have grown to be one of the largest fully independent forklift and transport companies in Australia, specialising in forklift rentals, equipment servicing, equipment sales and machinery transport.
We are continuing to expand our Queensland footprint with the opening of our new Townsville branch. You’ll be joining the branch from the beginning, working alongside our Branch Supervisor and supported by our established Brisbane operation and broader national team.
We are now looking for an experienced Forklift Mechanic to provide both field and workshop service across Townsville and the surrounding region.
What Is On Offer
- An ongoing, full-time position with an established national business
- The opportunity to join our new Townsville branch from day one and be part of establishing our local operation
- Strong support from our established Brisbane Service and Operations teams
- Excellent working conditions, laundered professional uniform and a fully maintained company vehicle
- Competitive remuneration, with additional overtime earnings available
- Ongoing support and professional development
- A practical, supportive company culture where people are trusted to get on with the job
- Work on a fleet of well-maintained, low-hour equipment from industry-leading manufacturers
The Role
Working alongside our Townsville Branch Supervisor and supported by our wider Queensland team, you’ll carry out a mix of field and workshop servicing,
maintenance and repairs across our rental fleet and customer-owned equipment.
As part of our new Townsville team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Planned maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repairs
- Attending customer sites for servicing and breakdowns
- Preparing and inspecting equipment for hire
- Working on a variety of forklifts and materials handling equipment
- Completing job documentation using a company-provided tablet
- Maintaining WFL tools and service equipment
- Working safely and to Waverley Forklifts’ quality standards
You’ll work closely with the Branch Supervisor to keep our customers supported and our local fleet operating at its best.
The Right Person for the Role
We’re looking for a reliable, capable tradesperson with strong mechanical skills, a good attitude and pride in their work.
Ideally, you will bring:
- A mechanical trade qualification, automotive, mobile plant, heavy diesel and similar backgrounds considered
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Forklift, materials handling or construction equipment experience is highly regarded, but not essential
- The ability to work independently in the field and as part of a small team
- A skilled, customer-focused approach
- A willingness to learn and develop your skills
Forklift experience isn’t essential. If you have strong mechanical fundamentals and the right attitude, we can help you learn the equipment.
If this role is of interest, and you feel you can bring energy and commitment to the team, please submit your application via SEEK to Samantha Watson, HR Manager.
Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
