Help People Hear Better, Communicate Better and Live Their Best Possible Life

At earLAB, our mission is simple: to help our clients enjoy their best possible life by reducing the communication barriers caused by hearing loss and ear health conditions.

Founded in 2018, earLAB is an independent private audiology and ear health practice with clinics in Richmond and Footscray, Melbourne.

We provide a broad range of audiological and ear health services to clients aged 10 years and over, with a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for every client.

We’re not your average healthcare provider.

Our work sits at the intersection of audiology, ear health, hearing technology, hearing protection, music and workplace hearing conservation.

As the exclusive distributor of ACS Custom products in Australia and New Zealand, we also work with musicians, performers, sound engineers, industry professionals and people who require high-performance custom hearing protection and custom in-ear monitors.

We are now looking for an exceptional Audiologist to join our experienced and supportive team.

The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Part-Time or Full-Time Audiologist, working across our Richmond and Footscray clinics.

Immediate start available.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced clinician who enjoys variety, values clinical independence and is passionate about providing genuinely patient-centred care.

At earLAB, your role won't be limited to hearing tests and hearing aids. Our scope of practice is broad, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills across a diverse range of audiology and ear health services.

What You'll Do

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive hearing assessments for clients aged 10 years and over
Conducting audiological assessments, diagnosis and development of individualised management plans
Providing bespoke hearing and communication solutions based on each client's needs, lifestyle and goals
Fitting, programming, fine-tuning and managing hearing aids and other hearing devices
Conducting ear health assessments, including video otoscopy
Performing aural microsuction and ear wax management
Providing custom hearing protection solutions for individuals and workplaces
Taking ear impressions for custom hearing protection and custom in-ear monitors (CIEMs)
Working with musicians, performers, sound engineers and other professionals who rely on their hearing
Working with DVA, private and insurance-funded clients
Educating clients and the wider community about hearing health and hearing loss prevention
Maintaining accurate clinical records and high-quality clinical documentation
Referring clients to GPs, ENT specialists, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers when appropriate
Collaborating with educators, allied health professionals, community organisations and workplace health professionals
Contributing to hearing conservation programs and initiatives across different industries
Engaging with the community to promote hearing health, prevention and accessible ear care
Keeping up to date with advances in audiology, hearing technology and evidence-based clinical practice
About You

We're looking for someone who is clinically capable, curious, compassionate and genuinely cares about people.

You will ideally have:

A recognised qualification in Audiology

Full membership with Audiology Australia or an equivalent professional body
A current Clinical Certificate of Practice
Clinical experience as an Audiologist
Experience conducting hearing assessments, diagnostics and treatment planning
Experience with hearing aid fitting, programming and hearing technology
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and provide effective counselling
A genuine commitment to patient-centred care and achieving the best possible outcomes
The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Initiative and a willingness to contribute ideas and continuously improve the services we provide
A commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
Experience in the following areas is highly regarded:
Aural microsuction / manual ear wax removal
Custom hearing protection
Ear impression taking
Custom in-ear monitors (CIEMs)
Hearing conservation programs
DVA services
Insurance-funded services
Working with musicians, performers or people working in high-noise environments

Don't have experience in all of these areas? That's okay.

Our scope at earLAB is varied, and training and support will be provided to help you develop your skills in areas such as aural microsuction, custom hearing protection, CIEMs and ear impression taking.

A Different Kind of Audiology Role

At earLAB, we believe audiology should be about more than simply completing a hearing test and recommending a hearing aid.

Our clients have different lives, different environments and different communication goals.

You might spend part of your day helping an older client reconnect with family through better hearing, and another part taking precision ear impressions for a musician's custom in-ear monitors.

You might work with someone concerned about occupational noise exposure, help a performer protect their hearing without compromising their ability to hear music, or provide ear health care to someone who simply wants relief from impacted ear wax.

That's what makes working at earLAB different.

Why earLAB?
We're Independent

We aren't a large corporate audiology chain.

Our clinicians have genuine opportunities to exercise clinical judgement, develop meaningful relationships with clients and contribute ideas that shape how we deliver our services.

We're Focused on Client Outcomes

We don't want clinicians who simply work through appointments.

We want clinicians who care about what happens to the client after they leave the clinic.

There are no traditional KPIs or sales targets driving your clinical decisions. Our focus is on providing the right solution for each individual client.

We're Innovative

We're constantly looking for ways to improve ear health and hearing care.

From microsuction and preventative ear health through to hearing technology, custom hearing protection, CIEMs and workplace hearing conservation, our work extends well beyond traditional audiology.

We're Connected to the Real World

Our clients aren't just patients sitting inside a clinic.

We work with people across the community, including musicians, performers, professionals, workplaces, educators, allied health providers and people working in high-noise environments.

We aim to make hearing and ear health care accessible, practical and relevant to people's everyday lives.

We Invest in Professional Growth

We believe CPD should be more than simply ticking a box for a professional body.

It's an opportunity to learn, challenge your thinking and improve what you can offer your clients.

We support:

Ongoing CPD and professional development
A CPD allowance
Regular clinical learning and team discussions
Monthly clinical gatherings
Training and upskilling across ear health, hearing protection and CIEMs
Knowledge sharing across our clinical team
We Like Our Team to Enjoy Coming to Work

We take our work seriously, but we don't believe healthcare needs to feel corporate or monotonous.

We value a positive team culture and make time to enjoy working together, including:

Quarterly team-building activities
Annual Christmas celebration with partners
Product and service discounts
Birthday gifts
A supportive and collaborative team setting
Custom In-Ear Monitors & Hearing Protection

One of the unique opportunities at earLAB is the ability to develop expertise in custom hearing protection and custom in-ear monitors (CIEMs).

Through our work with ACS Custom and other leading IEM brands, you may work with:

Musicians and performers
Sound engineers
DJs and music professionals
Industry professionals
People working in high-noise environments
Clients seeking high-performance hearing protection

You'll learn how to take accurate ear impressions and develop an understanding of the importance of fit, comfort, acoustics and hearing protection for clients whose hearing is critical to their work and lifestyle.

This is an area that goes well beyond traditional audiology and provides an opportunity to develop a genuinely specialised skill set.
