Yard Hand / Forklift Operator

Fuse Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Yard Hand / Forklift Operator on behalf of our client, a well-established Australian manufacturer.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing operation where you will play an important role in supporting day-to-day production activities. Our client is looking for a reliable, safety-focused individual who is eager to secure a long-term position with the potential to transition into a permanent role.

The Opportunity

As a Yard Hand / Forklift Operator , you will be responsible for supporting plant operations through safe material handling, equipment maintenance, and general yard duties. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in an industrial environment and being part of a close-knit team.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Operating a counterbalance forklift to move raw materials, in-process materials, and finished stock
- Supporting production operations and assisting with daily plant requirements
- Operating the control room and monitoring production processes
- Cleaning, maintaining, and securing equipment in line with company procedures
- Completing shipment data entry and basic documentation
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment
- Participating in safety meetings and workplace improvement programs
- Following all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a dependable and hardworking individual with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

You will have:

- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- A valid Australian driver's license
- Flexible working hours + bale to work full-time hours/ overtime when permitted




- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, manufacturing, construction, or similar industrial environment
- The ability to complete basic documentation and data entry tasks
- A strong work ethic and willingness to get involved where required
- The physical fitness required to work in a demanding workplace
- Flexibility and reliability with working hours and shift requirements

Important Information

This position is based within a bitumen manufacturing plant, so candidates must be comfortable working in an environment that can be hot, physically demanding, and have robust odours.

Flexibility is essential, as operational requirements may change and there may be opportunities or requirements to work alternative shifts, including nights. Weekend work is generally limited to Sundays and is more common during peak periods.

Requirements

- Current Counterbalance Forklift Licence and Aus Driver's Licence (essential)
- Ability to work across day, afternoon, and occasional weekend shifts
- Reliable transport is recommended due to location and shift flexibility

- Long pants
- Long Hi-Vis shirt
- Steel capped boots
