Arrange storage of records in appropriate folders, boxes etc
Perform basic conservation work on archival records.
Undertakes research to answer queries from staff and external enquiries - small -medium research projects
Scan documents as part of digitisation and preservation projects

The program
The Heritage Archives houses organisational records of the Australian Red Cross, from annual reports and committee minutes to uniforms and first aid kits, posters, and photographs. We are the custodians of Australian Red Cross history, storing and preserving it for access and use.

The opportunity

For this role you will need:

Some familiarity with archival concepts and principles
Attention to detail
Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel)
Organisational and record-keeping skills




Ability to follow instructions and work in a team
Some light lifting may be required

The impact

As a volunteer, you will help vulnerable older people to feel secure and improve their social connection by listening, empathising, and providing them with a friendly voice. You will have the prospect to learn from many people’s diverse history and knowledge, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to others.

For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.
