Disability Support Worker – Multiple Programs

Locations: Eastern Suburbs & Northern Suburbs Employment Type: Casual / Part-time / Full-time Award: SCHADS or Victorian Disability Services (NGO) Agreement (as applicable)

About the Role

At cape, we are looking for passionate and versatile Disability Support Workers to join our team across a range of service areas, including:

- Supported Independent Living (Residential & SDA)
- Outreach Programs
- Day Programs – Community Options, Farm and Centre Based Supports (CBS)
- Vocational Programs – My Life, My Future (MLMF)
- Employment supports (Café and Supported Employment)

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, inclusion, and meaningful participation in everyday life.

This is a dynamic role with opportunities to work across different environments from supporting people in their homes to facilitating community participation, vocational programs, and employment pathways.

Key Responsibilities

Across all programs, your responsibilities will include:

Participant Support

- Deliver person-centred support aligned with individual goals, plans, and NDIS outcomes
- Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meals, medication, and routines
- Promote independence, dignity, choice and inclusion in all activities

Community & Program Engagement

- Support participants to engage in community activities, social connections and appointments
- Facilitate meaningful activities including skill development, recreation, and vocational training
- Deliver group-based or 1:1 supports depending on program setting

Program-Specific Contributions

Depending on the service area, you may also:

- Support residents in shared accommodation settings, maintaining safe and well-functioning homes
- Assist in centre-based day programs and structured activities (CBS/Community Options)




- Provide vocational training and coaching in programs such as MLMF
- Contribute to café or farm operations while supporting participant skill-building

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain accurate records including progress notes, medication records, and incident reports
- Work in line with NDIS Practice Standards, policies, and workplace health and safety requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Passionate about supporting people with disability to achieve their goals
- Committed to person-centred practice and inclusion
- Flexible and open to working across different programs and environments
- A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with participants, families, and colleagues
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Skills & Experience

- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or related field (or working towards)
- Experience in disability support (residential, community, day programs, or employment supports)
- Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and person-centred approaches
- First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)

Pre-Employment Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to provide and maintain:

- A current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) (where required for the role/program)
- A valid Australian driver’s licence (if applicable to the role)
- Evidence of being an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or holding valid work rights to work in Australia
