About the role

Cairns Food Enterprises Pty Ltd is seeking a Cafe Cook to join our team in Earlville, QLD 4870. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst allowing you to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced café environment. As a Cafe Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals and beverages to our customers, ensuring every dish meets our standards for taste, presentation and food safety. Your contribution will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our café operations.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and cooking a variety of café menu items including breakfast, lunch and light snack options

- Following recipes and plating standards to ensure consistency and presentation across all dishes

- Operating café cooking equipment including grills, fryers, toasters

- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, sanitation and workplace cleanliness in accordance with health and safety regulations

- Managing food stock levels and communicating with management regarding inventory requirements

- Working collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction

- Preparing and storing food items correctly to minimise waste and maintain quality

- Responding promptly to special requests and dietary requirements from customers

What we're looking for

- Experience working in a café, restaurant or similar food service environment

- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and café cooking methods

- Current Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to obtain it





- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling practices

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times

- Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues

- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 25kg

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality food standards

- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons and weekends as required
