HR & Operations Officer

Join a Growing South Australian Electrical Business

Adelect Trading Pty Ltd is a growing South Australian electrical contracting business working across commercial, industrial and major project environments.

We are currently experiencing an exciting period of growth and are assisting in the delivery of significant data centre projects, working alongside and supporting one of Australia's leading switchboard manufacturers.

As our team and project workload continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organised, proactive and dependable HR & Operations Officer to become a key part of our office and operations team.

The Role

Reporting directly to management, you will provide day-to-day support across HR administration, payroll, timesheets, job costing, employee records, compliance and general business administration.

A significant part of the role involves ensuring employee hours are correctly recorded and allocated to the appropriate projects and jobs. Accurate labour allocation is particularly important to our business as it allows management to monitor project costs and performance.

You will also help maintain our employee licensing, training and competency records and support management with the administration and monitoring of our workplace policies, Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and other compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee files and records

- Assisting with employee onboarding and employment documentation

- Preparing and/or processing payroll

- Reviewing employee timesheets for accuracy and completeness

- Ensuring employee hours are correctly allocated to individual jobs and projects

- Following up missing timesheets, incorrect job allocations and payroll information

- Maintaining employee leave and attendance records

- Maintaining our employee licence, training and competency register

- Monitoring expiry dates for electrical licences, White Cards, CPR/LVR, First Aid, EWP, Working at Heights and other relevant qualifications

- Maintaining company policies, procedures, SWPs and employee acknowledgement records

- Monitoring administrative compliance with established company procedures

- Assisting management with reporting and job-costing information

- Maintaining organised electronic and physical records

- Providing general office and operational administration support

- Helping improve administrative systems and processes as the business continues to grow

About You

The right person will ideally be someone who:

- Has strong administration and organisational skills

- Has exceptional attention to detail

- Takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion

- Is proactive rather than waiting to be told what needs attention

- Is comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities

- Can confidently follow up employees and supervisors when information is outstanding

- Communicates clearly and professionally

- Is comfortable working with numbers, timesheets and payroll information

- Can identify discrepancies and investigate them rather than simply processing information

- Understands the importance of accurate record keeping

- Can maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information appropriately

- Is confident using Microsoft Office and learning new software systems

- Enjoys creating structure and keeping things organised

- Works well in a fast-moving trade and project setting

- Is adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities as the business grows

- Wants to become a valued, long-term member of a growing company

Experience We'd Value

Previous experience in HR administration, payroll, office administration, operations administration or a similar position would be highly regarded.

Experience within an electrical, construction, engineering,

manufacturing or trade-based business would be particularly beneficial, as you'll already understand the importance of timesheets, job numbers, labour allocation, licences, competencies and project documentation.

Experience with payroll software, job-management systems or job-costing software would also be advantageous.

You don't necessarily need to be an HR specialist. We're particularly interested in finding someone with the right attitude, strong administrative capability and willingness to take responsibility for their area of the business.

Why Join Adelect Trading?

This is an opportunity to join Adelect Trading at an important stage of our growth.

We're continuing to expand our workforce and project capabilities while contributing to significant electrical infrastructure and data centre projects, including supporting the growth and delivery capability of one of Australia's leading switchboard manufacturers.

As the business grows, we want this position to grow with it.

For the right person, there is an opportunity to become an important part of the business, develop a detailed understanding of our operations and take greater ownership across HR, payroll, systems, compliance and administration over time.

You'll work closely with management and have the opportunity to make a genuine contribution to how our internal systems and processes develop as the company expands.

What We Offer

- $65,000–$75,000 + super, depending on experience

- Full-time, stable employment

- Exposure to major electrical and data centre projects

- A diverse position with genuine responsibility

- Opportunity to develop the role as the company grows

- Long-term career potential within a growing South Australian business

Interested?

If you're highly organised, enjoy taking ownership of your work and are looking for an opportunity to become an important part of a growing electrical business, we'd like to hear from you.

Please apply with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you believe you'd be a good fit for Adelect Trading Pty Ltd.
