About the Role:

Curtin University is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking digital product Owner, Digital Experiences to help shape and communicate the product strategy. Working closely with the Deputy Director, you will guide the product lifecycle from translating customer and university needs through to delivery and adoption, ensuring solutions are practical, meaningful and aligned with Curtin’s digital strategy.

This is a leadership role with responsibility for both product ownership and people leadership. You will lead and develop a team of specialised professionals while ensuring products and delivery outcomes align with the University’s digital roadmap, agreed architectures, standards, methods and procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

- Lead, guide and develop staff through coaching and performance review to enable a high performing team.
- Shape and evolve the product vision, strategy and roadmap in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from discovery and prioritisation through to delivery, adoption and continuous improvement.
- Own and prioritise the product backlog, including user stories and acceptance criteria, to focus delivery on the highest value outcomes.
- Partner with Product Managers, delivery teams and technical specialists to translate customer and business needs into actionable outcomes.
- Ensure digital products deliver quality, measurable value and positive customer experiences.
- Drive continuous improvement through product insights, emerging technologies and improved business practices.
- Lead investigative and improvement activities to strengthen business processes, digital asset management practices and procedures.
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders to align priorities, shape objectives and increase the value of new and existing services.
- Champion user experience design by developing tools, techniques and standards, and guiding the adoption of agreed approaches.
- Support responsible technology use by assessing impacts, managing risk, promoting compliance, and upholding data protection,



disaster recovery and records management standards.
- Manage sourcing, supplier engagement, service availability and development project progress in line with agreed architectures, standards, methods and procedures.

Who We Are Looking For

You will be an experienced product leader who combines strong product ownership capability with the ability to lead and develop people. You will be comfortable operating across customers, business stakeholders and technical teams, bringing people together around a clear vision and making thoughtful decisions about priorities and trade-offs.

Selection Criteria:

- Relevant IT or business qualification, or equivalent experience/training, with extensive ICT product owner experience.
- Experience delivering digital products, business process improvements and client-focused service standards.
- Proven ability to lead specialised technical teams and set clear direction.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including trusted advisor experience.
- Collaborative, inclusive approach to problem solving and service delivery.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills across a diverse range of audiences.
- Experience engaging and managing vendors and tracking delivery of services or solutions.
- Strong organisational skills, with knowledge of project management, agile methods and higher education digital technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with Product Manager to break down complex ideas into actionable tasks.
- Strong organisational skills and demonstrated understanding of project management, Agile methodologies and product delivery practices.
- Experience working in a university or higher education environment and an awareness of the use of digital experience technologies within universities would be desirable.

This Continuous G10 level role attracts a remuneration of $152,905 - $167,669 + 17% superannuation.
