The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HVAC Estimator / Project Engineer to join our growing team in Darwin. This dynamic role combines project estimation, planning, design coordination, and project delivery support across a range of HVAC projects.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to develop accurate cost estimates, prepare tender submissions, coordinate project documentation, and support the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Review and analyse project documentation, including drawings, specifications, scope of works,
and contract requirements.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, bills of quantities, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to obtain pricing and technical information.
- Support the design, planning, installation, and commissioning of HVAC projects to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Develop and maintain project plans, construction schedules, coordination drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
- Identify and resolve design and documentation issues through collaboration with engineers and technical teams.
- Assist with contract administration, tender negotiations, and project variations.
- Conduct site visits and stakeholder meetings to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
- Maintain effective document control systems and ensure all project records are accurate and up to date.
- Build and maintain strong skilled relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Competencies
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes:
- Strong analytical and estimation skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
- Sound understanding of HVAC systems, construction methodologies, and project delivery processes.
- Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively at all levels.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of tendering, budgeting, and contract administration processes.
- Proficiency in project documentation, reporting, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also managing tasks independently.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
