About Puckapunyal Health Centre

Puckapunyal Military Area is located approximately 13km west of Seymour. This was first used as a mobilisation and training area during WWI and by 1939, and was formally established in the early 1940's. It is home to the Headquarters of the Combined Arms Training Centre, Army Knowledge Centre and Schools of Artillery & Transport. The health centre services up to 4000 Defence members and provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental, pharmaceutical and mental health. There is a 12 bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7.



The standard operating hours are 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

This role is primarily Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

What you'll do

- Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members

- Conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.

- Undertaking assessments, interventions, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions

- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount

What you bring

- Unrestricted AHPRA general registration as a Psychologist

- Minimum two years' Post Graduate experience within last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting

- Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' and 'Psychological Therapy' as per Medicare Schedule

- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)

- Australian Citizenship required for Baseline Security Clearance

- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
