About the role
The AI Regional Supervisor is the regional delivery authority for the physical build of AI factory infrastructure. You lead the AI Foremen running individual sites across your region, and you own the standard to which every one of those sites is delivered: installation quality, safety discipline, schedule integrity and documentation accuracy. Where the Foreman runs a site, you run the region – multiple concurrent builds, each with its own customer, partners and critical path.
This is a field-track leadership role at 100% delivery execution. You do not produce designs; you receive the issued design – low-level designs, rack elevations, P2P schedules and RBI workbooks – from the Domain Architect – AI Facilities (Layer 1) and are accountable for its faithful physical execution. You are the seam between site reality and the design authority: field deviations flow up through you with evidence and issued design changes flow down through you to the floor with superseded versions withdrawn.
The bar for this role is the same as for the Foremen you lead, raised one level: proven command of large-scale data centre deployments, the authority to stop work when safety or quality demands it, and reporting that stands behind every sign-off given in your region. When a build is on the critical path, you work the problem, not the clock; sustained site presence across the region is a firm requirement.
Key responsibilities
- Own delivery execution across all active sites in the region, holding each build to the issued design version, the installation quality standard and the committed schedule
- Sequence foremen, field staff and partner crews across concurrent builds,
and rebalance the region when a site's critical path moves
- Maintain the regional installation schedule and dependency view across all builds, feeding it into the project plans owned by the Project Managers
- Lead, direct and develop the AI Foremen in the region; set and enforce the operating standard for daily briefings, installation trackers, issue logging and quality gates on every site
- Verify that every Foreman sign-off is backed by evidence – test results, inspection records and tracker entries – before it is presented for customer acceptance
- Hold stop-work authority across the region; enforce site safety standards, PPE regimes and duty of care for all staff, partners and visitors under supervision
- Own S1 and S2 issue response for the region: same-day notification of the Project Manager and Principal Architect for stop-work events, and within-day escalation of critical-path blockers
- Enforce that sites cable and build only to the current issued design version, and that superseded versions are withdrawn from the floor
- Channel field deviations to the Domain Architect – AI Facilities (Layer 1) with photographs and evidence, and hold work until adjudication where the deviation is structural
- Set and audit the regional QA bar: copper and fibre certification test results,
fibre end-face cleanliness, bend radius, labelling, grounding and bonding verification, and liquid-cooling leak-detection checks
About you
- Proven supervision of large-scale data centre physical deployments across multiple concurrent sites, directing foremen, installers and subcontractor crews
- Structured cabling at high density: single-mode and multimode fibre, direct-attach copper, polarity, bend radius, pathway fill and cable management standards
- Copper and fibre certification testing: interpreting test results, enforcing fibre inspection and cleanliness to IEC 61300-3-35, and rejecting marginal results
- Three-phase rack power verification: voltage, phase and amperage checks, PDU installation to design, and grounding and bonding to electrical code
- Working awareness of direct liquid cooling installation practices, leak detection verification and the constraints of powered high-density halls
- Fluent reading of rack elevations, floor plans, P2P schedules and RBI workbooks; runs installation trackers as the single source of site truth
- Working command of project management fundamentals applied to multi-site, multi-project builds: installation scheduling, critical-path and dependency management, resource levelling across a shared crew pool, and risk identification with mitigation tracked to closure
- Construction-site safety regimes: 5-point PPE enforcement, site inductions, hearing protection in powered halls, and the judgement to stop work without hesitation
- WHS site safety accreditation (White Card in Australia, or local equivalent) – required before unescorted site access
