About the role
This full-time position is based at the Narrandera Shire Council Works Depot, Barellan Road Narrandera. This position currently works a 4 day week.
This position is required to operate council’s plant and equipment and to assist with all maintenance activities and to be actively involved in team building and development programs.
Duties
- Effective operation of council plant- Previous experience in plant operation and know the plant limitations. Familiarisation of plant maintenance and the ability to carry out minor repairs
- Undertake hazard identification and risk assessments on work sites as required - By identifying potential hazards and performing risk assessment, taking correct safety measures to minimise or isolate a risk in accordance to councils WHS safety plan and procedures.
- Undertake labouring duties as required - By assisting team members to complete projects by being actively involved and carryout labouring activities safely.
- Identify Material-By the recognition of different materials and their properties and how they may be used during maintenance projects.
- Organise Council resources- By organising available council resources in order to complete set task.
- Quality Assurance- By ensuring the quality of work and activities of the job holder, ensuring work safety and identifying areas and processes that could be improved and having an understanding of Council's Quality Assurance system.
- Record Management- By completing appropriate council documentation for pre start inspections, Toolbox Meeting and safety inspections.
- Plant Operations-Primary role of tractor operations utilising tractor attachments. Operate other plant when required.
