About the role

BIC Industries is seeking a skilled and reliable Powder Coater / Production Assistant to join our manufacturing team on a full-time basis at our Edwardstown facility in South Australia. In this hands-on role, you will play a vital part in our production operations, ensuring that products meet our high quality standards and are prepared for delivery to our customers. This position is essential to maintaining the efficiency and excellence of our assembly and process work, directly contributing to BIC Industries' reputation for quality manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

- Operating and monitoring powder coating equipment to apply finishes to components and finished products

- Preparing surfaces through cleaning, masking and pre-treatment processes to ensure optimal coating adhesion

- Inspecting coated products for quality defects, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer specifications

- Loading and unloading products from coating ovens and associated equipment

- Assisting with general metal fabrication production line activities and material handling as required

- Performing routine equipment maintenance and cleaning to keep coating systems in optimal working condition

- Following all health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised work environment

- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve production issues promptly

What we're looking for:

- Experience in powder coating within a manufacturing environment

- Knowledge of coating application techniques and ability to achieve consistent, high-quality finishes

- Understanding of health and safety requirements in manufacturing,



particularly with chemical handling and equipment operation

- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, specifications and quality standards

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control

- Physical capability to perform allocated tasks and occasional heavy lifting

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Reliability, punctuality and a positive approach to work

- Relevant qualifications in powder coating, surface finishing or equivalent industrial training (preferred)

- Experience with production line environments
