Senior Associate (Family Law) – Adelaide

The Opportunity

Swan Family Lawyers is expanding its Family Law practice and is seeking a senior lawyer with at least five years’ post-admission experience to join its Adelaide office.

The successful candidate will play an important role in achieving positive outcomes for clients across a broad range of family law matters. The position is suited to a capable and driven solicitor who develops trusted client relationships, provides commercially sound and practical guidance, and confidently supports clients through sensitive and legally complex disputes.

The role is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

Working collaboratively with the Family Law team, the successful candidate will:

- Represent and advocate for clients during mediation and family dispute resolution processes;

- Appear in substantial and complex proceedings before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia;

- Draft, review and finalise court documents, legal correspondence and related materials to a high professional standard;

- Take responsibility for managing a varied family law caseload and ensure files are maintained effectively;

- Collaborate with senior practitioners on legally and factually complex matters;

- Support and mentor junior practitioners and contribute to the continued development of the Family Law practice; and

- Participate in professional,



industry and networking events to strengthen referral relationships and identify business development opportunities.

Required Experience and Attributes

Applicants should demonstrate:

- At least five years’ post-admission experience practising in family law;

- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organisational capabilities;

- A commitment to delivering empathetic and client-focused legal services;

- Excellent attention to detail and consistently high professional standards;

- The resilience and adaptability required to respond to court deadlines and changing client needs;

- Experience in, or a genuine interest in developing expertise concerning, complex property settlements; and

- The ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with clients, referral partners and broader professional networks.
