In the heavy vehicle industry, a Service Advisor is more than just a desk role—you are the vital link between our technicians, our parts department, and the clients who keep the country moving. We are looking for a professional who can speak "mechanic," "parts," and "customer" with equal fluency, providing top-tier service that turns first-time callers into lifelong partners.
The Role
As our Service Advisor, you are the primary point of contact for our workshop. From the moment a customer calls or walks through the door, you take ownership of their experience. You’ll manage the flow of information, ensure technical requirements are clearly explained, and work hand-in-hand with our Parts Interpreter to make sure jobs are accurately resourced and completed on time.
Key Responsibilities
- The Client Ambassador: You’ll be the first point of contact, assessing repair needs and providing a professional, welcoming experience.
- The Technical Translator: You’ll take diagnostic reports from the workshop and explain them to customers in clear, actionable terms—providing accurate estimates and securing approvals.
- The Parts Partner: You’ll collaborate closely with the Parts Interpreter—assisting with parts lookups, sourcing, ordering, and receipting during peak times to keep repair workflows moving smoothly.
- The Workflow Expert: You’ll create and manage job cards, ensuring the workshop has the technical details and required components ready to hit the ground running.
- The Information Hub: No customer likes being left in the dark. You’ll provide proactive updates on job progress, parts ETAs, delays, and completion times.
- The Business Driver: You’ll handle the "sharp end" of the business—processing invoices, managing warranty claims, and following up on accounts with precision.
What You Bring to the Team
- Communication Skills: You’re a natural at building rapport with everyone from solo owner-operators to national fleet managers and internal parts specialists.
- Team Collaboration: A hands-on attitude and willingness to jump in and support the parts counter and inventory duties when the workshop gets busy.
- Sharp Organisation: You can multitask in a fast-paced environment without letting the details, parts requirements, or paperwork slip through the cracks.
- Systems Fluency: You’re comfortable with workshop management software and fleet systems. (Bonus points if you’ve mastered Mechanic Desk).
- The "Cool Head" Factor: You stay calm, professional, and solution-oriented, even when the workshop is at capacity.
Why This Role?
This isn't just about processing paperwork; it’s about managing relationships and keeping the entire service operation aligned. You’ll have the authority to manage the customer journey, the close partnership of a dedicated parts department and mechanical team, and a workplace that values service and professionalism above all else.
What Are the Benefits?
- Stability and Growth: We have been in the industry for more than 30 years with an ongoing, secure pipeline of work, and we are projecting to double in size within the next 3 years.
- Work-Life Balance: Having flexibility is key; with a collaborative team that crosses over to help across service and parts, you'll never be left dealing with tasks alone.
- Family Business: We are a family-owned business, and we believe everyone is more than just a number.
Sound Like the Right Fit?
If you’re looking for a workplace where you’re treated like a person, not a number—and where your hard work is actually noticed—you’ll fit right in here at Churchill Services! Apply today to join our team.
