The Client

Confident Smile is a multidisciplinary dental practice with over 30 years of experience providing services and treatments to improve the dental health of our patients. Their Mt Gambier dentist can provide check-ups, fillings, root canal therapy, wisdom teeth removal, bad breath treatment, dentures, veneers, crowns and bridges, teeth whitening, dental implants, orthodontic solutions and more.

They are looking for experienced Dental Assistants to join their team in Mount Gambier, SA.

The Role

This is for multiple full time positions with an annual salary between $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.

Responsibilities

- Cleaning and sterilizing dental tools, and making sure all equipment is working properly.
- Keeping the clinic clean and following infection control rules.
- Welcoming patients, taking their medical history, and explaining treatments and helping patients feel comfortable during their visit.
- Preparing patients for treatment and assisting the dentist during procedures.
- Using suction tools and water sprays while the dentist works.




- Taking and developing dental X-rays and following safety guidelines.
- Giving patients instructions after treatment and arranging follow-up visits.
- Scheduling appointments and keeping patient records up to date.
- Handling billing and managing insurance claims.

Requirements

- Certificate III or higher in Dental Assisting is essential
- Minimum 12 months work demonstrated experience as a Dental Assistant
- Minimum 12 months experience with D4W software
- Minimum 12 months experience in preparing and sterilising dental instruments and maintaining infection control standards in line with ADA guidelines
- Minimum 12 months experience in taking and processing dental X-rays using digital
- Minimum 12 months experience in coordinating billing, and insurance claims processing
- Proficiency in Microsoft outlook and Microsoft office is highly preferred
- A caring and empathetic approach with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Customer service-oriented approach while maintaining strong attention to detail.
