Join DPI as a Facilities Officer and help keep specialised scientific facilities safe, reliable and research-ready.

As a Facilities Officer, you will play an important role in maintaining specialised research facilities, infrastructure and equipment to ensure they remain safe, reliable and ready to support critical scientific activities. This is a varied, hands-on position that combines facilities support, logistics, maintenance coordination and customer service.

Key responsibilities include supporting the maintenance of research infrastructure, coordinating the delivery and storage of goods, chemicals and laboratory gases, assisting with central stores operations, monitoring building systems, and liaising with contractors and site stakeholders. You will also contribute to site safety, maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

We're looking for a proactive and organised individual who enjoys practical work, builds positive working relationships and takes pride in delivering high-quality services.



The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety will be highly regarded.

To be eligible, you must hold a current C Class Driver Licence and Forklift Licence.

The role involves physical tasks including manual handling, lifting up to 15kg, and working safely with chemicals. Participation in an after-hours on-call roster for emergency maintenance support is also required.
