Department Manager (Fresh Produce)

Guru Brothers Supermarket Pty Ltd trading as Denmark Supa IGA is a family-owned fresh food market located in Denmark WA 6333, Western Australia. The business supplies fresh produce, organic products, continental deli items, cheese and gourmet groceries to retail and wholesale customers.

We are seeking an experienced Department Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of the fresh produce department.

Location: Denmark WA 6333
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Annual Remuneration: $79,500–$86,000 p.a. plus superannuation

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the fresh produce department, maintaining high standards of freshness, presentation and customer service.
- Set product ranges, stock levels and pricing based on seasonality, sales history, customer demand and margin targets.
- Source and negotiate with growers, wholesalers and suppliers, managing purchases within approved budgets.
- Plan promotions and displays to drive sales and maintain effective merchandising.
- Monitor stock, sales, wastage, margins and operating costs, and contribute to budgets and financial targets.




- Recruit, train, roster and supervise employees to meet operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and retail requirements.

Skills and Experience

- At least 1 year of full time or equivalent part time experience in a similar role.
- A diploma or higher qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of stock control, pricing, margins, merchandising and customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff, suppliers, budgets and promotional activities.
- Sound understanding of food safety, workplace health and safety and retail compliance requirements.
- Strong organisational, communication and commercial decision-making skills.
