Meals are prepared and cooked on the premises for dine-in, takeaway and drive-thru customers. The venue accommodates approximately 50 seated customers, with meals delivered to tables by service staff.

The Cook will prepare and cook a variety of menu items while maintaining consistent standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch meals from raw and pre-prepared ingredients, using commercial ovens, grills, stovetops and other kitchen equipment, in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Examine ingredients and food products regularly to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for preparation.
- Operate ovens,



grills and other cooking equipment while maintaining appropriate temperatures throughout food preparation.
- Season and prepare food during cooking to achieve consistent flavour, quality and presentation standards.
- Portion and present prepared food attractively while maintaining consistent serving sizes and presentation standards.
- Follow food safety, sanitation and hygiene procedures throughout all stages of food preparation.
- Apply appropriate knife skills and cooking techniques when preparing ingredients and menu items.
- Store ingredients and prepared foods safely within designated temperature-controlled storage facilities.
- Prepare meals and food items appropriately for customers with special dietary or allergen requirements.
- Monitor ingredient usage and assist with estimating food requirements for daily café operations.
- Maintain clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workstations, utensils and food preparation equipment.
- Support efficient food preparation processes to maintain timely service during busy café trading periods.
- Check finished dishes for quality, presentation and consistency before they are served to customers.
- Assist other kitchen team members and provide practical guidance on preparation and cooking procedures.





Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

- Relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience suitable for performing the duties of a professional Cook.
- Minimum 12 months’ experience working as a Cook or in a similar commercial kitchen role is required.
- Solid knowledge of food safety, kitchen sanitation, allergen awareness and safe food handling requirements in commercial kitchens.
- Demonstrated competence using commercial cooking equipment, knife skills and appropriate cooking techniques for varied café menu items.
- Ability to consistently prepare, portion and present food to established recipes, quality standards and customer expectations.
- Experience maintaining efficient kitchen operations while working accurately and calmly during busy food preparation and service periods.
- Sound knowledge of ingredient quality, food storage temperatures and procedures for maintaining freshness and minimising unnecessary food waste.
- Ability to work cooperatively with kitchen and service staff while maintaining reliable attendance, attention to detail and professionalism.
