About the Role:

Join Curtin University’s School of Population Health as a Health Promotion Project Officer and contribute to the delivery of the Mentally Healthy Schools Program, a targeted initiative of Mentally Healthy WA’s Act Belong Commit campaign.

Working closely with the Schools Program Coordinator, you will support the planning, implementation and delivery of health promotion initiatives that promote mental health and wellbeing within school communities. Drawing on your health promotion and/or school health promotion expertise, you will contribute to evidence-informed activities and projects that support population health and prevention.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about mental health promotion, community engagement and population health prevention, with the opportunity to further develop your research and project management skills while contributing to meaningful outcomes for school communities across Western Australia.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate the implementation of project plans, initiatives and deliverables in collaboration with the Schools Program Coordinator
- Manage project communications and liaising with key stakeholders to coordinate their input and support project outcomes
- Provide executive and administrative support to project committees, working parties and stakeholder meetings
- Undertake research activities, including collecting, compiling and analysing data to support project delivery and evaluation
- Develop evidence-informed resources and delivering career development and training for school staff
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project activities through research, evaluation and collaboration with stakeholders

Who we are looking for (selection criteria):

- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate and implement project activities and deliverables
- Well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and demonstrate cross-cultural sensitivity
- Well-developed written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports and documentation
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities,



meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, including contributing to shared goals, supporting others, accepting direction and respecting diverse perspectives
- Experience in health promotion and/or school health education

Desirable:

- Research and analytical skills, including the ability to collect, interpret and communicate data.

Role Requirements:

1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
2. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
3. This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check

What We Offer You:

This is a full time, fixed term position until 30 June 2031, with a salary range between $99,213 - $105,251 (G06) per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
