Watson Family Farms operates 3 certified Biodynamic/ Organic farms and one Jersey Milk uncertified farm in the beautiful iconic Millaa Millaa region of the southern Atherton Tablelands.

The milk from these farms supplies the Mungalli Creek Dairy on-farm processing facility and is made into award winning milk, yoghurts, cream, cheese and ice-cream under the Mungalli Creek Dairy or Misty Mountains brand.

This brand has been established for over 25 years and is expanding into more markets as demand grows.

As a family centered business, we are passionate about producing the best quality products for our customers and regenerating the soil and land using Biodynamic and organic farming practices.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced milker to help care for and milk our cows. Previous experience with milking and herd and calf care and the ability to do early morning and afternoon shifts is required.

MUST be able to operate a quad bike safely and have good dairy hygiene and be available for weekdays and weekend rosters.

Skills and Experience

Applicants would ideally have a minimum of 1 year Dairy experience and be able to look after all aspects of the dairy herd including:

- Milking, dairy shed hygiene, herd health

- Calving and Calf rearing, livestock and dry cow management

- AI of cows and Herd Recording





- Stock movement, paddock rotations and general farm duties

- Feeding of Sileage

Located near Millaa Millaa, we have two positions available:

Position 1 - you will be working on our Bartle View farm which has a small herd of 90 Jersey cows. Two three-hour shifts per day am and pm approximately 30 hours per week .

Position 2- is approx 35 hours per week helping our Farm Manager with milking, calf raising, herd health and general farm maintenance.

Our Farms are located in a stunning part of North Queensland surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest and Waterfalls. You will need to live within easy driving distance to our farm.
