At CPSN , we're a not for profit organisation dedicated to empowering people with a disability to live the lives they choose their way. We're proud of our responsive, inclusive and values driven culture where integrity, respect, courage and accountability guide everything we do.
About the Role & Our Client
We're looking for compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team supporting our female client in her own home in Geelong.
Our client enjoys a range of hobbies and interests, including LEGO, craft, fishing and tennis. She is also a passionate Geelong Football Club supporter and enjoys attending football matches and being involved in her local community.
The right Support Worker will enjoy supporting someone to maintain their independence, pursue their interests and participate in the community.
We are looking for someone with matched availability to some of the following regular shifts:
- Friday: 6:00pm – 9:00am (including sleepover)
- Tuesday: 6:00pm – 8:00am (including sleepover)
- Wednesday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Every second Sunday: 9:00am – 4:00pm
- Every second Saturday: 6:00pm – 9:00am (including sleepover)
The Support You’ll Provide
The role involves supporting the client with a combination of personal care, household tasks and community participation, including:
- Providing personal care and assistance with transfers using a ceiling hoist.
- Supporting transfers to and from the commode/shower chair and toilet, and assisting with transfers to bed as required.
- Supporting community access, including travel by bus or taxi.
- Preparing and cooking evening meals.
- Assisting with laundry, including washing and hanging clothes on the line or clothes hoist.
- Supporting general household tasks such as cleaning floors and maintaining a comfortable home environment.
- Supporting participation in hobbies, community activities and interests.
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, respectful, patient with a person centred focus, and who understands that outstanding support is about enabling independence, choice and participation not simply completing tasks for someone.
If you enjoy building genuine relationships and helping someone live life on their own terms, we'd love to hear from you.
