THIS ROLE/LOCATION

This position is located at 100 Miles Kitchen & Bar at the Adelaide Airport.

An exciting opportunity to come on board to showcase your culinary skills. We are looking for a Casual Commis Chef Level 4 Grade 3 who is keen to learn and grow in their career and become a leader in the kitchen!

- Casual positions available

- 25-38 hours a week

- Training and working across multiple sites

- 7-day operation rotating roster, must be available to work on weekdays and weekends

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible with assisting Head Chef/Sous Chef with preparation of food prior to service

- Ensure individual section is ready to meet daily functions and special requirements

- Ensure the effective and efficient preparation of all food items and making of orders

- Be actively involved in daily service cooking and serving menu items in line with company standards

- Monitor and train staff on product knowledge, especially with new menu items, to maintain high standards

- Inform the Head/Sous Chef of any shortfalls in stock or orders needed for the next day

- Ensure adequate stock is on hand, and daily prep is completed to make the full menu offering available while avoiding waste

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Understand and practice Food Safety at all times, as defined by the company Food Control Plan

- Understand the maintenance of equipment, accurate recordkeeping and stock labelling, stock rotation, and safe storage

- Able to train and supervise cooks, chefs & kitchen attendants





- Completion of appropriate culinary certification – Experience as Commis Chef or above
