About Chance

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cyber Security Governance Analyst to support cyber security governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities within a major cyber resilience uplift program. The successful consultant will work closely with a Cyber Security team, contributing to security assurance, governance documentation, risk management, and executive-level reporting across critical ICT initiatives.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to nationally significant cyber security initiatives and support critical operational activities. The position forms part of a surge workforce supporting key government programs and requires strong expertise in stakeholder engagement, governance, and cybersecurity.

Key Requirements

- Australian Citizenship (mandatory).
- Current NV1 Security Clearance required prior to commencement.
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Canberra, ACT.
- Temporary work-from-home arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.





Key duties and responsibilities

- Support cyber security governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities aligned with the organisation's cyber resilience uplift program.
Contribute to solution design activities by providing cyber security advice and recommendations.
- Review and develop cyber security requirements for ICT initiatives and projects.
- Develop executive-level communications, reports, and supporting documentation for decision-making purposes.
- Coordinate security assurance activities, including IRAP assessments and penetration testing engagements.
- Lead the development and maintenance of formal cyber security governance and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external providers to achieve security outcomes.
- Support cyber security requirements associated with major operational events where required.

Required Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated experience and capability in cyber security governance, risk, and compliance, including:

- Strong knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM).
- Strong understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Working knowledge of the Essential Eight maturity model and implementation requirements.




- Proven experience performing cyber security GRC functions within government or large enterprise environments.
- Experience coordinating security assurance activities such as IRAP assessments and penetration testing.
- Experience developing governance, risk, compliance, and security documentation.

Additional Skills

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce executive-level documentation.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting security governance activities within complex ICT programs.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in cyber security governance, risk, and compliance-related roles.
