About the Role

The Marketing Coordinator supports the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies that establish and build The Wayfarer Collective’s profile and encourage growth in program participation.

The Wayfarer Collective is an exciting new initiative of the Village Churches Network (Blackwood, Ballarat South, Creswick-Clunes and Brown Hill Uniting Churches). The goal of The Wayfarer Collective is to explore and experiment with new ways of being church in the 21st century. These New Expressions provide a place for spiritual enquiry, build supportive communities (a place of belonging), promote connections between individuals, and create opportunities for people to participate in the development of faith.

This is a casual working-from-home position, requiring an estimated 9 hours of work per week.

As this role requires some travel, a current Victorian driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is required. The person in this role will be required to attend events and meetings in various locations across the Village Churches Network.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

- Bachelor degree tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, media, or digital communications, desirable.

- At least 1 year of recent experience in a marketing role.

- An interest in the vision of The Wayfarer Collective, and experience working with a not-for-profit organisation preferred.

The successful candidate will:

- Obtain and maintain a Working with Children’s Check.

- Be subject to satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.

- Have a current driver’s license.

About Us

The Presbytery of Western Victoria is a large presbytery stretching from the South Australian border in the west to Ballan in the east; Warracknabeal in the north to the Southern Ocean — and some 80 congregations in between. It includes a number of major centres such as Ballarat, Warrnambool, Horsham, Colac, Hamilton, Portland, Ararat and Stawell.

The congregations themselves range in size from the faithful handful to around 300 members.

Many are now celebrating 100 to 150 years of witness. The role of the Presbytery is to provide oversight necessary to the life and mission of the Church. In particular, it exercises oversight over the congregations within its bounds, encouraging them to strengthen one another's faith, to bear one another's burdens and exhorting them to fulfil their high calling in Christ Jesus.

The Presbytery will support and enrich congregations, agencies, faith communities and chaplaincies by building their missional and ecumenical possibilities and forging and strengthening links between these groups. It will encourage, equip and support people in ministry roles, and facilitate educational opportunities. The Presbytery will ensure that communication with various parts of the Synod is clear, and solid relationships are formed between all councils of the Church.
