We're a family-run disability support company looking for a Community Support Worker for an immediate start.

About you:

Seeking a skilled individual with compassion and drive to provide quality care for vulnerable people.

- Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships with others.

- You will have Robust English Language Skills including reading and writing.

- You will have experience in high care needs of clients (e.g. PEG (gastrostomy feeding).

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum P2 drivers license.

- First Aid & CPR.

- Manual handling certificate.

- Medication administration and PEG ideally, or willing to obtain.PEG feeding experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

- DCSI clearance, Police clearance and safe place training (or equivalent) training certificate.

- Relevant industry experience. Minimum of 1-2 years relevant industry experience is required.

- Minimum qualification Certificate III individual support.

- Unique skills such as Auslan knowledge, MAOA certification, etc, are highly desirable.

- Successful applicants must live within 30km of Evanston (5116) and you must own a vehicle with comprehensive insurance and be willing to transport individuals if needed (expenses provided)

Tasks & Responsibilities

- Apply positive behaviour support strategies to actively engage individuals in practicing and retaining ADL's.

- Use a range of approaches to support individuals who may display challenging behaviours.





- Provide personal care including mealtime assistance, dressing, toileting, transferring and transporting individuals.

- Supporting individuals with high health care and physical needs, including wheelchair users, and those requiring mechanical aids for transfers. Including the use of hoists, portable shower chairs, electric beds, comfy chairs and walkers.

- Create and maintain a positive and welcoming environment for the individuals who receive your support.

- Domestic duties relevant to the caring role including cleaning, cooking, washing and laundry.

- Support parents and caregivers to continue to provide informal support to their children and those in their care.

- Ability to drive vans and large vehicles such as people movers and use a wheelchair tailgate lift and vehicle restraints.

- Maintain and contribute to comprehensive client information.

- Availability to work a roster that includes overnight sleepovers, and a 24/7 roster. Shifts are currently predominantly evenings and weekends. Availability for shifts on short notice is highly preferrable.
