Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.
Working closely with the Clinical Nurse Consultant (Infection Prevention) and multidisciplinary teams, you will support and promote best-practice infection prevention and control across CHHHS. Acting as a key clinical resource, you will provide evidence-based advice, education and support to clinicians and stakeholders, contributing to safe, high-quality patient care and compliance. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient safety, healthcare quality and infection prevention outcomes across the health service.
About your opportunity:
- Practice collaboratively and provide clinical leadership within the interdisciplinary health care team to promote the safety, security and personal integrity of individuals and groups.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of relevant legislation, guideline and standards specifically relating to infection prevention.
- Clinical Nurse (CN)
provides an early leadership role within the career pathway for nursing within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health services and can function in more complex situations while providing support and direction.
- Undertake quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities to ensure the provision of quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Knowledge of quality improvement processes and activities and ability to apply validated research in ongoing improvements of clinical practice.
- Demonstrate evidence of increasing autonomous practice and greater levels of qualified judgement, influencing practice as a team member.
