About the Role:
Corporate Protection are currently seeking several dedicated security professionals to join our team in Sippy Downs and Moreton Bay, for both field security guard positions (Community Safe Officer) and Control Room officer positions.
As a Community Safe Security Officer, you will operate in the field across our client campus’ and be proactive presence ensuring the security and safety of those on site. The duties of this position include security patrols, area monitoring and responding to emergency situations as they occur.
Our Control Room Officers, work collaboratively within a team across multiple locations to assist with the coordination of our team in the field, as well as external security personnel when required. This diverse role offers an excellent chance for individuals with experience monitoring and operating CCTV, electronic access control systems, and electronic security platforms such as Gallagher.
Due to the experience level required for control room operations, most individuals will be hired as a Community Safe Officer however after training and signoff from our clients, there may be opportunities for progression into the control room.
Location: Moreton Bay and Sippy Down
Roster: Day, Night & Weekend shifts
Employment Type: Full Time, Part Time and Casual Opportunities Available
Travel: You must have your own vehicle and be self-reliant getting to/from shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the duties as directed by the Control Room Duty Officer, Operations Coordinator and/or Operations Manager or Site Management in line with SOPs.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge and practical understanding of site security related policies, procedures and all applicable legislation
- Carry out all vehicle and foot security patrols to a high standard, ensuring accurate post patrol reports are documented
- Buggy Vehicle Pre-Start check and documentation of usage and any details affecting its operation or damage.
- Maintain uniforms and PPE in a high standard/working condition, appropriate to site
- Prepare and submit reports as required, including safety incident report, security events and patrol reports.
- Act as a First Responder, provide first aid and CPR when required
- At all times ensure services are delivered in an efficient and professional manner
- Provide an Escort Service for client employees and individuals working early mornings or late evenings
- Review electronic systems including CCTV and Security and Access Control Systems
- Liaise, mediate, negotiate, direct and take appropriate action to resolve emergency situations or diffuse conflict
- Assist in the completion on timely, accurate, neat and legible paperwork/documentation required as directed by the Control Room Duty Officer/s, Operations Coordinator and/or Operations Manager or Site Management in line with SOPs.
Key Responsibilities (Control Room Specific):
- Actively monitor and operate CCTV systems across multiple locations, to ensure only authorised persons are on site, and coordinate appropriate Security response action to breach situations.
- Monitor and operate the computerised electronic access control systems ‘Gallagher’ as required, including but not limited to monitoring assistance alarms, intruder alarms, unauthorised access alarms, door open too long alarms, temperature alarms and fridge alarms.
- Monitor and operate the Staff and Student Safety Application ‘Safe Zone’ through ‘Command’.
- Manage incoming requests and coordinate appropriate Security response, by overseeing and directing the Security Officers on patrol and escalating matters when required.
- Respond to incoming security phone calls and Emergency phone calls, delegate after hours callouts and provide verbal updates to stakeholders over the phone
- Assist with after-hour rostering of staff when required.
- Assist management in meeting contractual KPI’s
- Coordinate vehicle and foot security patrols to a high standard and ensure post patrol reports are documented and accurate
Mandatory Skills and Qualifications: For any qualifications noted below, please outline the items which you currently hold in your cover letter and provide copies with your application, or immediately post interview.
- Current Class 1 QLD Security Officer’s license – Unarmed, Crowd Control and Monitoring
- Certificate II in Security Operations as a minimum
- Current Open QLD Driver’s License
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Current COVID-19 Vaccination
- Proof of working rights in Australia (Passport, Visa,
or Birth Certificate)
- Understanding of Conflict Resolution, Cultural Awareness and Time Management
- High level Communication & Interaction skills
- Working knowledge and understanding of computer systems
- Ability to place a person of reasonable height and weight in a wheelchair.
- Ability to lift an average size person and carry such person in a rescue situation.
- Easily bend, stoop, or work with both hands above shoulder level.
