About the role

We are seeking a Facilities and Fleet Officer to join Oonah Health & Community Services Aboriginal Corporation on a 3 day per week part time basis, SCHADS Level 3.1. Based in Montrose VIC 3765, this role is fundamental to ensuring our facilities and fleet are maintained to the highest standards, supporting the smooth operation of our health and community services. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our buildings, grounds, and vehicles, ensuring they are safe, clean, and fit for purpose. This position plays a vital role in enabling our staff and service users to work and access services in well-maintained environments and will work across our locations in Healesville, Montrose and Upper Ferntree Gully.

What you'll be doing

Scheduling routine maintenance, repairs and servicing of organisation facilities including buildings, grounds, equipment and safety systems

- Managing the organisation's fleet of vehicles, including scheduling servicing and ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with regulations





- Coordinating with external contractors for specialised maintenance work

- Maintaining comprehensive records of maintenance activities, repairs, servicing schedules and fleet management

- Conducting regular inspections of facilities and vehicles to identify maintenance needs and potential safety issues

- Supporting the implementation of health and safety standards across all facilities and vehicles

- Maintaining cleanliness and general upkeep of office spaces, communal areas and outdoor grounds

- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies regarding facilities management and fleet operations

- Liaising with staff to understand facility and fleet requirements and responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance or fleet management in a community or health services setting

- Sound knowledge of building maintenance, repairs and general upkeep practices

- Experience with vehicle servicing schedules and fleet management systems

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels





- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and workplace safety practices

- Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving

- Proficiency in using computer systems and record-keeping software

- Current driver's licence and willingness to undertake vehicle maintenance training

- A commitment to cultural respect and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is highly valued
