Dawson Mine is seeking motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Apprentice Auto Electricians. This is an exciting opportunity for Moura and Banana Shire residents to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience maintaining and repairing some of the largest and most advanced mining equipment in Australia.
Job Description
During this 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll be working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will complete a nationally recognised qualification while developing the skills needed for a rewarding career in the mining industry.
Apprentice Auto Electrician, you will:
Assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems on mobile mining equipmentLearn to diagnose faults using specialised diagnostic tools and equipmentSupport planned and breakdown maintenance activitiesDevelop skills in reading electrical schematics and technical documentationMaintain a solid commitment to safety and environmental standardsWork collaboratively with experienced tradespeople and operational teamsComplete all apprenticeship and training requirements successfully
Qualifications
Have a genuine interest in automotive electrical systems and heavy equipmentDemonstrate a strong commitment to safetyAre reliable, motivated and eager to learnHave good problem-solving and communication skillsCan work effectively in a team environmentHold a current Driver's Licence or are working towards obtaining oneFinishing Year 12 this year and looking for your next career opportunity
Previous mechanical, automotive or electrical experience is advantageous but not essential.
