Apprentice Auto Electrician | Dawson Mine

Dawson Mine is seeking motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Apprentice Auto Electricians. This is an exciting opportunity for Moura and Banana Shire residents to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience maintaining and repairing some of the largest and most advanced mining equipment in Australia.

Job Description

During this 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll be working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career maintaining some of the most advanced heavy mining equipment in Australia.

Apprentice Diesel Mechanic, you will:

Assist with the maintenance and repair of heavy mining equipmentLearn fault-finding and diagnostic techniquesSupport planned maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairsDevelop skills working on engines, hydraulics, powertrains, braking systems and mobile equipmentFollow safe work practices and contribute to a positive safety cultureWork collaboratively within a high-performing maintenance teamComplete all apprenticeship training and study requirements

Qualifications

Have a genuine interest in mechanical equipment and how things workAre reliable, motivated and eager to learnDemonstrate a robust commitment to safetyHave good communication and problem-solving skillsEnjoy working as part of a teamHold a current Driver's Licence or are working towards obtaining oneFinishing Year 12 this year and looking for your next career opportunityPrevious mechanical, automotive or electrical experience is advantageous but not essential.
