Dawson Mine is seeking motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Apprentice High Voltage Electrician. This is an exciting opportunity for Moura and Banana Shire residents to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience maintaining and repairing some of the largest and most advanced mining equipment in Australia.
Job Description
During this 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll be working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will complete a nationally recognised qualification while developing the skills needed for a rewarding career in the mining industry.
As a Apprentice High Voltage Electrician, you will:
Assist with the maintenance and repair of high voltage electrical equipment and systems.Support fault finding and troubleshooting activities.Participate in planned and breakdown maintenance activities.Learn and apply safe work practices and procedures.Complete all apprenticeship training requirements and assessments.Maintain accurate records and documentation.Contribute to a positive safety culture and team environment.
Qualifications
Successful completion of Year 12 (or equivalent)Sound achievement in Mathematics and EnglishGenuine interest in pursuing a career as an Electrical Tradesperson specialising in High Voltage systemsStrong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practicesAbility to work effectively in a team environmentGood communication and problem-solving skillsCurrent Australian driver's licence (or ability to obtain during the apprenticeship)
Desirable
Certificate II in Electrotechnology (UEE22020) or equivalent pre-apprenticeship qualificationPrevious exposure to electrical, mining, industrial,
or construction environmentsCurrent First Aid and CPR certificationWorking at Heights or Confined Space trainingDemonstrated mechanical or technical aptitude through employment, study, hobbies, or extracurricular activities
