Assistant Head of Design and Technology
Commencing Term One 2027 | Leadership position - three-year appointment
Suitably experienced and qualified secondary teachers are invited to apply for this permanent teaching position with the leadership appointment as Assistant Head of Design and Technology for a three-year period, commencing Term 1 2027.
The opportunity
The Assistant Head of Design and Technology is an experienced teacher and is responsible for supporting the Head of Design and Technology with a range of duties to assist in the smooth running of the department.
They will support their Head of Department in the implementation of College approaches to pedagogy, assessment and reporting, with a focus on providing a holistic education and quality learning outcomes for our students.

About you
The successful candidate will be an energetic secondary educator who will have:
• Demonstrated ability to teach Years 7-12 design and technology.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and team leading experience to provide instructional
leadership within the subject area/s, particularly:
o Leading the quality of curriculum development and evaluation, and course review and writing.
o Leading the quality of assessment, testing and reporting.
o Promoting and achieving high standards of student achievement.
o Developing appropriate teaching methodologies and high standards of teaching effectiveness for Department members.
• Demonstrate a passion for teaching, pursuing innovative thinking and interdisciplinary learning.
• Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of
best practice and professional experience.
• Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent
time management skills.
• Promote and participate in pastoral and co-curricular programs, including but not limited
to school camps and excursions.
• Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare.
• Support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals.
• Uphold Radford’s values of truth, compassion and wisdom.
Required qualifications
• Teaching qualification recognised by the Teacher Quality Institute.
• Maintain registration as a teacher with the Teacher Quality Institute, including a valid Working With Vulnerable People check.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
