About the role

This is a full-time accounting position based in Geelong, Victoria with Godfrey Hirst Australia Pty Ltd, a leading manufacturer and supplier of residential and commercial flooring products across Australia and New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

- Process journals and assist with month-end accounting, financial reports and management accounts.
- Complete general ledger, payroll, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with BAS, FBT, payroll tax and other taxation compliance obligations.
- Support year-end accounting, statutory reporting and internal and external audits.
- Assist with annual budgets, company tax returns and finance-related projects.
- Support inventory reporting, stocktakes and monthly factory results.
- Review financial results, investigate variances and assist departmental managers with accounting matters.
- Maintain accurate financial records and comply with relevant legislation, company policies and reporting requirements.
- Provide general accounting support to Godfrey Hirst and its subsidiaries.

About you

- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commerce or a related discipline.




- A minimum of three years of relevant full time work experience in financial accounting or a closely related role.
- CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards either qualification, will be highly regarded.
- Experience with month-end processing, financial reporting and account reconciliations.
- Knowledge of GST, BAS, FBT, payroll tax and other Australian compliance requirements.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment and an understanding of inventory or cost accounting will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
