As a Child and Family Practitioner in the Strengthening stream, you will play a critical role in delivering early intervention support to children, young people and families experiencing vulnerability and complex challenges. Working within an integrated family support model, you will engage with families at the earliest opportunity to build their skills, resilience and capacity, helping to prevent issues from escalating or becoming entrenched.

This role is focused on creating meaningful, strengths-based change through assertive outreach, evidence-informed interventions and team-oriented case management. You will partner closely with families to identify risks, strengthen protective factors, and support positive parenting practices, while connecting them to the right services and community supports.

As a Child and Family Practitioner – Strengthening, you will:

- Deliver targeted, evidence-informed case management, assertive outreach and tailored interventions to individuals, children and families with complex needs
- Build parental capacity and family resilience by developing and implementing outcome-focused plans that promote safety, stability and wellbeing
- Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments, coordinate services, and connect families with appropriate supports and community resources
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure integrated service delivery, strong partnerships, and improved outcomes for children and families

Position Details

- Full time, Fixed term positions until 30 June 2027
- 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $105,834 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We’re Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication,



empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare Studies, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Behavioural Sciences or related field
- Demonstrated understanding of managing complex cases with strong case practice including client advocacy, therapeutic interventions and family support in line with evidence informed frameworks.
- Demonstrated understanding of risk and needs assessments
- Demonstrated knowledge of the factors that can impact on a parent’s ability to care for children and knowledge of the service system and resources available that can support parents, children and young people
