Details: The Insurance Team within the City and Environment Directorate provides strategic leadership and expert advice on the Directorate’s insurance portfolio and insurable asset risk exposures. The Directorate is seeking to fill the permanent full time position of Director Insurance at the SOGB level.
As Director Insurance, you will provide leadership for the Directorate’s insurance strategy and governance framework, ensuring the effective management of insurable risks across a diverse asset portfolio. You will deliver high-level strategic advice to senior executives and stakeholders on insurance and asset risk exposure, while overseeing the Directorate’s approach to insurance claims governance, premium management, and insurer engagement. The role is pivotal in driving a proactive and risk-informed approach to protecting the Directorate’s assets, services, and long-term interests.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Highly Desirable:
- Previous experience (or strong knowledge) of at least three years in the application of insurance practices, particularly ACTPS related experience is highly desirable.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy, law, public sector administration, business or corporate management or a related field are highly desirable.
Note: A merit pool of suitable applicants who are not selected for the advertised position will be established and may be used to fill future permanent or temporary vacancies over the following 12 months. Applicants who do not wish to be included in the merit pool should advise the contact officer.
The position may also be subject to a period of probation.
