Allied Health Assistant – Townsville
About the Role
Are you passionate about helping people improve their quality of life? We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to join our growing Townsville team.
Working alongside experienced Prosthetists and Orthotists, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality allied health services and ensuring a positive experience for our clients.
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will provide both clinical and administrative support to our clinicians, working under the direction of qualified health professionals to assist with delegated clinical tasks and the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills within a multidisciplinary allied health environment. With training and supervision, you will also manage a defined clinical list involving the fitting of selected off-the-shelf orthotic devices and adjustment of custom devices. Full training in this specialised area will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clinicians with day-to-day clinical activities
- Document clinical consultations and maintain accurate records
- Assist with report writing and administrative tasks
- Manage inventory and coordinate ordering of clinical supplies
- Provide client education and training under clinician supervision
- Fit selected off-the-shelf braces and orthopaedic appliances
- Support client appointments and contribute to a positive client experience
- Maintain a professional, safe and well-organised clinical environment
About You
You are a positive and motivated individual who enjoys working with people and is committed to delivering outstanding client care and customer service.
Essential Requirements:
- Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Current, or ability to obtain, both a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional and compassionate approach to client care
Desirable:
- Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant is desirable; however, new graduates with a strong willingness to learn will also be considered.
- Experience working within a clinical or healthcare environment
- Experience with inventory management and administrative duties
